The general consensus has always been a quick wit and a sharp mind, but what good are they when I don't use them? In the last year, I've whittled down my internet communicating to just WoW crap and angry StumbleUpon reviews. It took a man dying from a bullet to the wang to make me realize I was missing out on not just endless amounts of entertainment, but the communication with other people I really need.

There are a few people I genuinely missed talking to, but what I really mean is I can't be a smartass if I'm not being a smartass at someone. And I think we can all agree that I'm just not me if I'm not being a smartass. This came as a startling revelation to me. I also noticed that I can't ridicule people for being inferior smartasses to myself if I don't have a current portfolio of smartassedness at hand to showcase my talent. It doesn't have the same effect, really.

So, I've missed a lot. I have no idea what went on with my board for the better part of '07. Same with LJ. Anybody I talk to via instant messengers. If not for my mom mailing me every couple of weeks asking how I'm doing, I doubt I'd know what my family is up to. I've got my reasons, some better than others. None that good anymore, I guess, since I'm trying to get up to speed everywhere. It's a slow process, but that's nothing new with me. My retards are having a neck-measuring competition to see who will claim sponsorship of Takeo Spikes for this season. I think I'm currently in the lead.

I've decided to write the world's worst children's book. I've got the story outlined in my head, and I'm going to write out parts of it later. With any luck, this will get me ready for all the other writing I have to do.

It's very strange, reading emails from my mother. Conversations in email are disjointed, slow, and can really get in the way of communication. I spent a lot of years with my family without saying much. Now that I'm not within earshot, they want to talk to me more. Well, with me more.

Family is a strange thing. When they admit to what I knew all along they manage to make me feel like a shit.

What do you do when Blizzard rolls out a big patch and plans to reset all the honor points? Why, you have a parade. I'm sorry, I mean paraid.

If WoW on the laptop was bad before, it's a lot worse now that I stepped on the damned thing. Things are still a little scattered and torn apart, so I left the laptop on the floor. I cracked the screen on it pretty good. There's dead pixels everywhere and a spiderweb of cracks to try to look through. Oh well, we're still both able to play together.

We've been trying different classes and races to see which ones we like, dabbling in professions as we go. Erin hasn't complained about me rushing through the quests as fast as possible yet, but that may be due to my stopping after every two or three encounters to regain my mana. I've really been burning through the conjured water with my mage. I picked up a cheapy wand today, so maybe that will help.

I've pretty much lost all track of days here, so I don't know how much longer her ten day trial will last. It looks like she's going to stick with it, but until those ten days are up she can't use the auction house or trade. I've just about given up on my two guild characters since I never see anyone on, so I'll probably take the gold I have from them and send it to whichever new characters we stick with. Unless we switch to Citrinia's server...

Either way, there's a few guildies I'll miss playing with. Not very many though. This concludes the WoW portion of our program...


I've finished up two books so far, and I'm working on the third now. I'm finishing up the Discworld stuff, and I've forced Erin into reading the Firestar stuff I enjoy so much. She's only complained about the quoting in the dialogue so far, which I'm going to take as a sign that she doesn't completely hate it.

The emails from my parents have slowed down a little, and the calls have stopped. Forgetting to log in to Skype may have something to do with that, I think. I've got an email from my uncle I need to respond to. I kind of forgot about that all day.
